Data kept by the app

When you save a reading, the app stores its intention, selected cards and settings, original reflection, append-only follow-ups, tags, favourite status, content version, and timestamps in this browser’s local storage. The shared Bronto theme control also saves the selected light or dark theme locally.

The current journal accepts up to 500 reading and follow-up records in an archive of at most 2 MiB. It reports the limit instead of silently discarding older entries.

Local storage is tied to this site and browser profile. Entries do not automatically move to another browser or device, and browser settings or storage eviction can remove them.

A service worker caches the application shell for offline use. If you choose Save deck offline, the browser Cache Storage also keeps that deck’s card images until you remove the copy or clear this site’s data. Deck images are not downloaded for offline use without that action.

Network activity

The deployed site consists of static files served by Cloudflare Pages. Loading it requests HTML, styles, scripts, card images, and other assets from the Tarot Sidequest origin. The application source contains no analytics, advertising tracker, account service, journal upload, or remote interpretation API.

Links to artwork creators, licences, historical texts, and browser documentation lead to other sites. Those sites receive a request only if you follow a link. Their practices are outside this project’s control.

Export, import, and deletion

• Export backup downloads the journal as JSON. Export for reading downloads Markdown.
• Import validates the selected JSON file before merging it. An invalid file or failed write leaves the current journal unchanged.
• Delete removes an entry from the app after a second confirmation. The offline controls remove a saved deck copy. Clearing this site’s browser storage removes the journal, theme preference, application cache, and offline deck copies from that browser profile.

Limits

Someone who can use your unlocked browser profile may be able to read its saved journal. Private or incognito windows may discard local storage. The project does not make a legal-compliance or confidentiality guarantee.
